Handy baby helper, but it's really not necessary.
Strengths: Easy to use and maintain.
Weakness: Bulky power block.
When I had my daughter two years ago, I researched wipe warmers and came to the conclusion that they were a waste of money. Many reviews told me that they dried the wipes out, got moldy, turned them brown, etc... Convinced we didn't need one, I didn't buy one. We survived just fine without it. When I had my daughter two years ago, I researched wipe warmers and came to the conclusion that they were a waste of money. Many reviews told me that they dried the wipes out, got moldy, turned them brown, etc... Convinced we didn't need one, I didn't buy one. We survived just fine without it. When my son was born two weeks ago, he was a whole different story. He would scream- really loudly- every time a cool wipe would touch his precious bottom! The day after we brought him home, I ran out and purchased "The Ultimate Wipes Warmer."
When I opened the box and read the directions, the first thing I noticed was that the Everfresh Pad (that prevents drying out and molding) needs to be replaced every three months. Upon a return trip to Wal-Mart, I could not find these anywhere in their baby department so I cannot comment on availability or price. The pad needs to be remoistened every week by running it under water. The directions also say that to clean the pad it can be tossed in the washer with a load of laundry. I haven’t tried this yet, but the pad feels pretty durable so I think it can withstand being laundered. Other than remembering to keep the pad wet, the unit doesn't need any other care. The way the lid is made, the moisture drips and runs back into the warmer. I've never had any problems with it leaking water onto the surface it sits on while sitting there or after being opened.
The one drawback I can think of is the power adapter. The adapter itself is nice because you can unplug the warmer if you want to move it to another room really quick without having to unplug it from the wall outlet. We do this fairly often since we had to plug ours in a few feet from our changing area. The green light on the front indicates that the warmer is plugged in and on- a plus because there's been a few times where my husband forgets to plug it back in. The not so nice about the power adapter is that it doesn't have a normal "plug." It's for a pretty large power block attached to it. You can see in the photo that it's almost the size of a "credit card." This was a drawback for us because our room doesn't have many accessible outlets so we rely heavily on power strips. The warmer takes up two plugs on the strip because it covers an open plug.
The other thing I'm not too happy with is that the wipes, after being removed, quickly lose their warmth. I don't blame this specific warmer itself for this, but I expected them to stay warm for at least 30 seconds. Other than that, I've had no issues. The wipes, we've only used Huggies in it, pull out well and I've had no problems getting them to dispense properly. Overall, it's a handy baby product but I still think it's more of a luxury than a necessity. Do I like it? Definitely. Do I wish I would have had it for my daughter? Not really. If you have the $20 to spend, why not. If you're on a budget, and you're going to need money for all the diapers you'll be buying, wait and see if you really need it. Chances are you can probably get by just fine without it.

a nice warmer
Strengths: Keep warm and wet for wipes for long time
I bought this one for my baby. she likes the feeling of warm wipes. you need keep the pad wet at all the time, that mean every time you fill in wipes, you need check the pad at the bottom. It's works great for Pampers wipes.
